Pormenaz
Hike & fly launch
The Pormenaz mountain is a small corner of wild nature in the heart of the Mont-Blanc massif.
Two take-offs are possible here: from the Pormenaz chalets and from the Pointe Noire de Pormenaz.
Hike
After climbing the series of small ladders, you’ll reach the Pormenaz Lake (from Plaine-Joux).
Part of the ascent goes through the Passy nature reserve, where you can enjoy the impressive cliffs of the Fiz range!
Pormenaz Chalets take-off
It’s located just below the cross.
Facing west, it benefits from excellent conditions with an upslope breeze, but this breeze can be very strong in the afternoon.
The slope is gentle and grassy, offering a comfortable launch.
Be cautious of livestock dogs, which are often present near the chalets.
Pointe Noire de Pormenaz take-off
This take-off depends on the weather wind conditions and is usable with orientations from west to southeast.
A launch is possible near the orientation table.
Be careful of the Passy nature reserve located just north of the Pointe Noire de Pormenaz — the take-off sits right on the reserve boundary.
Landing
Unfortunately, there is no official landing zone in Servoz.
Although there are a few fields, they are all cultivated.
The nearest official landing is located in Chedde.
