Passy lake
Landing
A landing in the Arve Valley
The lake is a slightly out-of-the-way landing zone, closer to Sallanches. It’s especially popular with hike-and-fly pilots heading toward Varan or, for the more ambitious, Barmerousse or Frioland.
Aerology
Aligned with the Sallanches valley, the breeze can be very strong here in the afternoon!
Keep an eye on the ripples on the lake to gauge wind strength, and collapse your wing at the edge of the wind window if it’s too strong to avoid getting dragged.
Rules
- Low-level overflight of the lake is prohibited
- No out-landings, and landing on the beach is strictly forbidden
- Respect the site’s opening dates, otherwise it could lose its agreement: no landings or ground handling from April 1st to October 1st
